Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan - Los Angeles

With the blessings of Baba and urging of devotees, a little home of Baba came up seven seas away from Shirdi. Few became the medium, few hoisted His flag, some shed their tears, some toiled and sweated, some offered in money and kind, many prayed with open heart - and stands today in the Montebello area of Los Angeles , our beautiful Baba temple. Baba sowed the initial seed. Dr. Prabhakar had a dream vision for Sai seva. The seed was small, it was tender - and came forward Sai Smaran and other Shirdi Sai Groups of Los Angeles to protect and grow it further. Hands started coming together - selfless effort from Dr. Prabhakar, his wife Dr. Padmini, tireless hours from several families in other Shirdi Sai Groups joined to lay the initial pillars.

The temple was inaugurated on Sunday, Jan 21, 2007 with the sthaphana of life size photo of Baba. It has been a blissful experience to see the temple grow right in front of our eyes from day one. With Baba constantly inspiring change, the temple went through series of remodeling - ceiling, floor, arches, paint, parking area, kitchen, garden - the old building turned into a glittering new architecture. Along the way, generous donations came from several families; to name a few - Sri Rao Yalamanchili family, Dr. Prem Reddy family, Sri Sarath Kamineni family, Sri Rao Gondi family, Sri Ravindra Hanumara family, Vikas etc etc .

Temple activities grew in leaps and bounds. The devotees could now take part in the four Baba aartis daily in temple, bhajan, satsang, puja, festival celebration, cultural activities, charity activities like annadanam, children education section namely Bala Gokulam etc etc. And then came the big moment of getting our Baba 's idol from India . A very kind and humble soul, Sri K. V. Ramani ji from Shirdi Sai Trust, was instrumental for the "BEAUTIFUL" Baba idol. The temple which looked somewhat incomplete till now suddenly started looking so full, so complete with Baba 's idol taking the centre stage. Baba 's Vigraha Pratistha happened in Feb 2008 in the presence of never seen before enthusiasm and exuberance from all devotees.

The temple Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan, LA, is a non-profit organization (All donations made in USA are tax deductible. Tax ID # 20-5624443). Baba 's darbar is open for all. Holding our fingers, His loving glance ever teaches us simple, pure living with the virtues of faith and patience.
